Event Planning Fundamentals

Great events take great planning. By understanding the industry basics, you will be able to create fabulous events of all types to meet your different objectives!

Join us for this 2.5 day course where we will cover:

  • Key industry terminology
  • Understanding how to plan your event to meet your specific objective(s)
  • Room Setups – and what will work best for your objectives
  • Audio Visual Basics
  • Food and Beverage – including basic formulas
  • Creating a Request for Proposal (RFP)
  • Selecting the proper location / venue
    • Participate in an actual site-inspection
    • Resources
      • Convention and Visitors Bureaus (CVBs)
      • Destination Management Companies (DMCs)
  • Budgeting – including money saving tips
  • Contract Basics
  • Creating your Meeting Specifications document

We encourage students to bring in real-life projects they are working on and to ask questions!

There are currently no public classes scheduled. If you have a group you would like to do a class for, please email us at training@fancyshindigs.com.

Policies:

  • Refunds ~ A full refund, minus a $ cancellation fee, will be issued for cancellations up to 21 days prior to the first day of the course start date. There are no refunds for courses cancelled less than 21 days prior to the first day of the course start date, or for no-shows.
  • Substitutions ~ You may substitute another attendee for your registration at any time up until the first day of the course start date.
